Forma Polystyrene Factory, established in 2014, is a leading producer of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) in Qatar.

Within a short time, Forma became a market leader in Expanded Polystyrene products through its focus on product innovation, good customer service and expanded capacity.

first Expanded Polystyrene plants is located in the New Industrial
Area and a second plant is under build up in the New Industrial Area
as well. The second plant will enable us to increase our EPS
production capacity and start the production of XPS by end of 2019.

international standards including American standards ASTM C 578,
British Standards BS 3837 and BS 14933

Expanded Polystyrene

Expanded Polystyrene
or EPS as it is often called is used across a broad range of
industries including the construction industry for both packaging and
insulation as well as for creating stunning displays for the graphics
and display industry.

EPS is a rigid cellular plastic foam material which comes from petroleum and natural gas by products. Once it is subjected to steam it can soften and expand up to 40 times its original size making it an extremely versatile product.

Light Weight

Comprised of about 98 percent air, expanded polystyrene is extremely lightweight making it ideal for installation and volumetric material filling.

Moisture Resistant

EPS is a closed cell
material and does not readily absorb water. Even when subjected to
prolonged saturation in water, EPS will still maintain its shape,
size, structure, and physical appearance and will retain 80% of its
thermal value.

Dimensional Stability
The cellular structure of expanded polystyrene makes it dimensionally stable and therefore does not deteriorate with age. Recent studies have demonstrated that EPS filled in the ground will maintain its dimensional stability over a 100 years’ life cycle.

Thermal Efficiency
Expanded polystyrene has superior thermal properties that is quantified through its “R-value”, or thermal resistance, which is an approximate measurement of how much the material impedes the transfer of heat.

EPS can be manufactured to almost any shape or size, or it can be easily cut and shaped when required to suit any application. Furthermore, EPS can be coated with many different coats including cementous and plastic coats.

Ease of use
Given its light weightiness and versatility, EPS is widely considered to be one of the easiest materials to install on site. Furthermore, it can be easily shaped and formed into any 2D or 3D shapes.

Environmentally Friendly
The manufacture of EPS produces no ozone depleting gases and uses no chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Furthermore, EPS waste can be 100 % recycled back.

Fire Retardant

EPS material is Class A Fire Retardant in compliance with ASTEM
E84/UL 723 and Qatar Civil Defence Department.
